Will do... I'll post to this list - unless I get any objections...

Subject: Getfile Gadgets...
Okay, okay, I`m the big evil guy for whining about interfaces... :)
I`ve been thinking about this one. Commodore have botched up badly here,
they need a gadtools gadget which contains a bunch of standard
images, such as scroll buttons, getfile gadgets, magnifying glasses,
all that kinda stuff. What do we get? Oh well...
In the meantime, we have a problem. There are a number of solutions...
1: Replace the image with the words "Pick file...". CBM have done this
themselves in the WBFont preferences programme
This is not a nice way about it because lots of text on a window and
no graphics is REALLY ugly!
2: Use MUI.
This is another nice solution, but MUI has it`s own problems... like
the difficulty of setting up HUGE structures for anything, and that
it all feels a little too `rubbery` and not concrete enough.
3: Create a `getfile.gadget` library
This would have to be a new gadget library, kinda like the colorwheel
and gradientslider .gadgets, but again... E in it`s present state is
not too well inclined towards creating these types of things and I
don`t have any docs on how to do it...
4: Create a `AddGetFile(window,x,y,w,h)` function which can be included
directly into the E source.
This may well be the best way of doing this at the moment. Unless
anyone can think of a better way of doing things, I`ll have a go
at writing one in a desperate effort to redeem myself :)
I have written some code which will place an image in a window as a datatype,
the advantage of which is it remaps and gets any pens it needs automatically.
This could be really useful as it is only a few lines long and will let
you create lovely-looking windows... :)
I`ll post it as soon as I manage to make it more flexible and return
intuimessages and draw borders and stuff... hey, I can smell a solution
to the getfile problem here...! ;)
Uhhh, can anyone tell me how the unix mail command works inside out as well?
And how VI works? And if there are any better editors? This is one
of the main reasons for my lack of useful postings here.
And if anyone wants to know a way of producing font-sensitive interfaces,
mail me. My way is harder than using gadtoolsbox, but produces better
looking results.

Here's the error. This should be a list or ARRAY OF LONG. You are
putting your rdargs results into a totally random bit of memory.

Real simple. Make sure you have stdrast set to your open window..
Colour(fg,bg)
RectFill() Jez.. can't remember the order.. If you need the data, I'll post
it.
Welcome to the E programming community dude.
